In
V.34+ mode (33.6Kbps) the modem is unstable when
it switches to Dial-backup mode and hangs up. The
remote modem doesn't detect line disconnection.
There
are two setting items in Line Setup menu: "Dial to Leased" and "Leased
to Dial". Both settings have to follow "Auto" or "Manual" at
the same time, i.e. if you setup the "Leased
to Dial" to "Auto", then the "Dial
to Leased" should also be "Auto".
Otherwise, the remote modem will not register the
disconnection until after the 45-second timed out
period.
